I photographed Denise and her beautiful family a few years ago at their home in Joburg. This time they where in Cape Town for a weekend and wanted some updated portrait photographs.
We did half of our shoot in my studio and then moved onto location for something different and to show some of Cape Town. These are some of the portrait shots.
I absolutely love photographing this family - not only are they all just gorgeous but they are some of the nicest people I've had the priviledge of meeting.
I met Frances, Devin and little Charlie on a winter morning at Tokai Forest.
Winter can be some of the best times to do a shoot as the light is so soft and lovely and there is generally no wind.
Charlie was 18 months old and too adorable.
I did a shoot a few weeks ago with my own beautiful little girls, Mikaela and India, who are 6 and 7.
They are so used to having other people in my studio and were so delighted to be dressed up in gorgeous little dresses and having their portraits taken. I can't believe that these are my own gorgeous daughters and when did they get so big?
I photographed this beautiful family early one autumn Saturday morning. We met at a greenbelt in Constantia for a few shots and then headed to my studio for a few shots.
I love looking for different light and creative opportunities on location but more and more I love photographing people in studio where there are no distractions and where the focus is soley on a person and capturing a beautiful portrait.
I met this beautiful family early in the morning for a beach shoot at Llundudno beach. I love doing shoots there in the morning as it's quiet and the light comes behind the mountain so beautifully.
Matthew is 3 years old and Isliedh 14 months old and they are both super-adorable kids. How beuatiful is this little face?
I photographed Katie and Theo's wedding in Paternoster a few years back and now they are parents to the two most gorgeous little kids, Matthew and Annabelle.
They are both architects in Bloemfontein and were on holiday in Cape Town for a few days and we met up on an autumn morning at Llundudno Beach - which is one of my favourite beaches to shoot at.
When they were back in Bloem, we did a viewing of their photos over Skype and they selected their favourites to be printed for a beautiful album.
Shelley is a single mom to the most lovely and very energetic Gabriella. As she is often behind the camera, she wanted to do a girly mother and daughter shoot in studio with the focus on beautiful shots of them together. They brought in a few outfits and played dress up and had lots of fun dancing around in the studio. After some time we headed out to the greenbelt in Constantia for a few shots.
I met Julia, Andy and their two gorgeous kids, Noah and Jessica, at a greenbelt in Constantia on an autumn Saturday morning. They are such a warm and lovely family and it was also so special that the grandparents were in town to join in for a few shots.
They came back to my studio a little while after to view their images and decided to print some mounted photos for a portfolio box and also chose a few favourites for their home.
Fast forward 9 years and we went back to the same place that we did their couple shoot on a beautiful autumn morning. Now they are rocking parenthood with the two most adorable children, Taylor and Willow; and have created such a beautiful little family unit.
They came back to my studio and chose the images that they absolutely love and are going back to the UK with a beautiful box of images from their time in Cape Town - the best souvenir.
Irmgard and her husband, children and their partners are some of the warmest and most lovely people I've had the priviledge of meeting. They are from The Netherlands and came to Cape Town for a holiday in March. Her daughter, Joy, contacted me before the time as an idea to do the shoot as a gift for their mother's 50th birthday.
I met them on what must have been the windiest day of the year in Camps Bay. We struggled with the wind and then found a fabulous cave which had the most beautiful and interesting light.. and somehow wind always adds some beautiful movement despite it being relentless and very sandy.
They came back to my studio 2 days later to select their images and after much deliberation, decided to print an album of their photos as a beautiful keepsake to always remember their time in Cape Town.
I met Rene, Peter, Connor, Dylan and Michaela at Noordhoek Beach on a Friday evening for beautiful late afternoon light to create some updated family portraits.
Rene decided to have a collection of these portraits printed and framed as a collection for her stairwell.
Deidre is Irish, Jon is American and they currently live in Angola with their two gorgeous little girls. We met early on a Saturday morning at Camps Bay where the kids could run and be play and the light was beautiful.
I met them at my studio 2 days later to show them their images and they chose their favourite images to be printed and bound in a beautiful fine art album.
