Simone and her family were all together in Cape town from London and New Zealand and decided that it would be great idea to do a family shoot on the rare ocassion of everyone together. I met them early in the morning in Constantia and was very happy to have gotten out of bed for such a lovely family.
I absolutely love seeing past wedding clients expand into little families and to observe their growth over the years. I've been lucky enough to photograph Jacqui and Neil over the past few years with their gorgeous kids Nick and Mia. This year we hung out down the road from their home at Noordhoek Common. How cute is little Mia?
I'm not quite sure where the years have gone to - I photographed Taryn and Grant's wedding way back in 2009 and now they have a beautiful curly-haired little guy, Ethan. I was pretty impressed that they came to meet me on a Sunday morning in Joburg for a family shoot.
I don't think I'll ever get bored of photographing people's journey's from a couple to a family - so beautiful. Ethan is a typical two-year-old who doesn't like to sit still and who wants things his way - so we just went with the flow of things on a Joburg winter morning.
One of my favourite things about my job is witnessing how families grow. I've photographed Debbie and Thabo so many times throughout their journey was parents - first when they were pregnant with Lerato 7 years ago and recently on a trip to the UK. I met them in Embankment on a busy Sunday afternoon - it was fun to watch the girls nagivate the London pavements so skillfully on their little scooters and bright pink sneakers.
I knew Rowena and Will back in our carefree varsity days and now they are such fabulous and laidback parents to three beautiful children - Arielle, Judah and Mattea. They wanted to do a photoshoot to document the newest addition of little Mattea, who is such a little cherub.
I recently did a shoot with Michelle, Basil and their beautiful twin girls, Maya and Zoe, who are 19 months old. It's a such a busy age for kids and super-busy when there are two of them.
We started off at their home in Orangezight, then to the park for a bit and ended off at a little section of beach in Seapoint on a beautiful autumn evening in Cape Town.
One of my favourite things about photographing people is to document the same family over time. I first photographed Jax and Stix when Sam was in the oven and now they have two beautiful little boys with another one on the way in a few month's time.
