I photographed a maternity session with Meryl when she was 36 weeks pregnant - she is so beautiful and glowing.
It was a freezing cold and windy day at Muizenberg but she braved the cold and the wind made for some gorgeous shots.
I've done a few shoots for Rennette over the years with her beautiful boy, Finn but this time she contacted me to photograph her on her own as a celebration of herself and her journey for her 41st birthday.
Rather than having hair and make-up done and being overly-photoshopped, she wanted a more natural and raw shoot with some darker and moodier elements and her true self showing.
Thank you Rennette for letting me share your photos with the world.
Sue came into my studio a little bit earlier this year for a portrait shoot. She started off with having her hair and make-up done and then brought in some of her favourite dresses and outfits to get some different looks. Her gorgeous little daughter, Holly, joined in at the end of the session to get some beautiful mother and daughter images of the two of them.
How adorable is this beautiful little girl? I photographed Ashleigh and Gareth's wedding a few years back and now they have this adorable little cherub, Grace. They came into my studio when she was 7 months old for a shoot. It's such a gorgeous age to photograph babies as they generally are sitting but not moving yet and are developing such cute little personalities.
I met Andrea, Warwick and their gorgeous little girl, Annabelle, for a shoot at Muizenberg beach on a chilly late winter's afternoon. She is a beautifully busy and curious little toddler who wouldn't stand still for long which always makes for a bit of unpredictability and fun.
I photographed baby Gabriella with her mom and dad on a wintry Cape Town's day just before her first birthday. We first shot at the Constantia Green Belt and then headed back to my studio for the majority of the shoot. How cute is this munchkin?
Zanele came into my studio a few weeks ago for a make-over portrait session. She, as all women do, told me that she is not very photogenic but I think the pictures speak for themselves - she is gorgeous. She wanted a very simple shoot in terms of clothing and wardrobe... and she completely rocked it.
Delaney Siebert did a beautiful job with her make-up.
I adore the preciousness of new life and to me photographing newborns is more about connection, simplicity and emotion than the distraction of too many props.
Luca arrived a bit early and was just over two weeks old when we did this shoot in studio.
Sylwia is a mixed media artist who does beautiful and inspiring illustrations and watercolours, some of which you can see here. She also takes lovely photos of her family but she wanted images where she was included - it seems to be the story of most mother's lives where they are behind the camera and not really included in the photos themselves.
She was on holiday in Cape Town all the way from Ireland wth her gorgeous little girl and husband - we met fairly early one morning on Camps Bay beach to do a shoot.
